Silica Sol Cast Gears in China

1. Production process

For small size gears and stainless steel gears, we choose to make them in silica sol casting process. It's one of the investment casting process. Such silica sol casting process can help to achieve a more accurate dimensions and better surface finish.

Besides silical sol casting process, some gears are made in other lost wax casting process, such as water glass casting, precision casting, etc. 

2. Material 

Choosen of material depends on function of the gears. Mostly, we use carbon steel, stainless steels, high impact alloy steels, and other wear resistance steels to take the gears. Material grades, such as 42CrMo, 35CrMo, 20CrMnTiH,18CrMnTi, SS304, SS316, etc.

3. Heat treating

Gears usually required to be quenched and tempered to achieve a very high hardness and impact. 

4.Surface treatment

Surface of gears are usually protected by anti-rust oil or waters.
