Normalizing Treatment for Steel Investment Castings in China

Normalizing treatment is one of the important heat treating process for steel investment castings in China. Here, we talk about the normalizing processes, application and affects of normalizing treatment briefly.

Processes of Normalizing Treatment

1. Heating the steel investment castings to achieve 30℃ -50℃ above Ac3 temperature.

2.Keeping the steel investment castings stored inside the furnance for certain time.

3.Cooling the steel investment castings in air.

Application of Normalizing Treatment

Normalizing treatment is widely used for kinds of casting materials.

1.Normalizing treatment for low carbon steel investment castings

Hardness of low carbon steel parts is a little higher than tempering treatment. The toughness is better. It can be used as the pre-machining treating process.

2.Normalizing treatment for middle carbon steel investment castings

Normalizing treatment can be used as final heat treating process, instead of Quenching and Tempering process. It can also be used as the pre-heating process for surface induction heat treating.

3.Normalizing treatment for tool steel, bearing steel and carburizing steel castings.

Normalizing treatment can eliminate or stop the forming of network carbide. Thus, to achieve the good structure for spheroidizing annealing.

4.Normalizing treatment for alloy steel investment castings.

Normalizing treatment and improve the casting structure of the alloy steel investment castings. Thus to improve the machining properties of alloy steel investment castings.

Normalizing Treatment affects on steel investment castings

1. To relief the stree left inside the steel investment castings.

2. Improve the hardness of the steel investment castings.

3. Make the steel investment castings more easiler for machining process.

We use the most suitable heat treatment process for investment castings in our foundry. Thus to control quality of our investment castings. If you have such RFQs, please contact us.
